Day 9 was the group’s second day in Firenze (Florence)! I started out the day by walking by the Cathedral with the dome. While I did not go up in the dome the cathedral was amazing to see even from the outside as it appeared almost castle like. Then many of us went to the Uffizi gallery which was filled with different types of art including books, newspapers, statues, and paintings. I was able to see the Birth of Venus and the painting of Medusa. After visiting the gallery, I got some delicious lemon and fruit gelato. Soon, I went to the market with the goal of finding olive oil and cheese. I sampled a few different types of olive oil and balsamic vinegar and chose my favorites. I also found some truffle cheese! Then I met up with the large group and got some tasty pizza. We then shopped our way back to the hotel and grabbed our things to get on the train. I slept through the train ride and enjoyed dinner at Casa Valdese before heading to sleep!
