Today we started off with visiting the former Jewish Ghetto established in 1555 by Pope Paul IV. We went through the Jewish Museum. In the museum we learned about the Jewish history in Rome and its relation to the Vatican. It is attached to the Great Synagogue of Rome, pictured below:
After visiting the synagogue, we briefly stopped at a café nearby for a much needed caffeine break.
Next was shopping and lunch! We had lunch at Roscioli Salumeria con Cucina. I had their gnocchi and it was great! For the rest of the day we wondered around Piazza del Biscione. They had a beautiful outdoor market taking place.
We finished shopping and headed back to the hotel for a brief break before dinner. For dinner we had a delicious spread of pizzas!
Today was a great day and tomorrow we are headed to Florence!!
