Frescos in the Domus Aurea
For our last day in Italy, everyone had the morning to choose how they would like to spend their final day. I went with a group back to The Vatican, for shopping, Mass, and of course seeing the Pope. Pope Francis greeted and blessed the crowd Sunday morning even though it was his birthday. But don’t worry we sang Happy Birthday to him! After that, the group got back together for a picnic lunch on the terrace before heading to the final tour of the trip at the Domus Aurea. Our tour guide from the Coliseum and Forum, Thomas, was back to show us around this still developing ancient site where new elements are being discovered. After the tour there was some free time for any final shopping and then our farewell dinner at Margot Ristoramte. It was a busy and exciting final day in Rome!
