Trevi Fountain!
Pantheon!
Lunch!
Aperol Spritz!
Today was another great day exploring Rome! The day had multiple highlights, including many beautiful churches. We saw multiple Caravaggio works, Bernini works, and the remains of Saint Catherine of Sienna. Along the route, we also got to see the Pantheon. The size is overwhelming, in an amazing way! It was incredibly beautiful and one of the coolest things so far. We stopped for lunch at a wonderful restaurant called Osteria del Grillo. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. Our table had some interesting conversations as well, including what food and drink would you be represented as and what was your favorite childhood toy. The waitress was super sweet and gave us a bar recommendation that supposedly all of the Kentucky people visit. The group did a little shopping along the way throughout the day. The next stop was the Trevi Fountain. At this point, it began to rain, but no one let it bring them down. The Trevi Fountain was one of the things I was most excited for, mainly because of the Lizzie McGuire movie. The group then visited a bar window, with most of the class trying the iconic Italian drink: an Aperol Spritz. Reviews were mixed, but everyone was excited to try it! The rain picked up, so we decided to call it a day, getting gelato and heading back to the hotel. On the way back, our final destination of the day was the Castel Sant’Angelo, which was beautifully lit up at night. Overall, it was a great and eventful day!
